What Jesus Did on the Earth

What Jesus Did on Earth

Learn what Jesus did on the earth! So what did he do?

Acts 10:38 How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by the power of the devil, for God was with Him.

That means the Gospel is ministered in power to confront the powers of darkness.

Jesus spent 1/3 of his ministry confronting demonic powers of darkness casting out demons, another 1/3 healing the sick and 1/3 preaching, praying.

Mark 1:21-28 – Jesus at Capernaum

21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

Jesus heals Simon’s Mother-in-Law’s fever Luke 4:38-41:

38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.

39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.

40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.

Jesus heals the Dumb Man 12:22-29:

32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.

35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Jesus heals the Bind and Dumb Demonic Matthew 12:22-29:

22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

The Church:

Much of the church is in unbelief and ignorance about healing and deliverance and many are in total denial of the existence of demons.  Many believe once saved, we cannot have a demon. Do we still have the body of sin?

The Apostle Paul admonished us to be aware of the wiles of the devil and not be ignorant of his devices.  The enemy is out to kill, steal and destroy.

John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

2 Corinthians 2:11 “lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

Satan has organized methods aimed at gaining victory over believers. This is what Paul means when he refers to the “wiles” of the Devil. The Word “wiles” means crafty or deceitful. Satan’s “wiles” are his crafty, deceitful strategies of attack.

Satan works through the world and influences the governments of nations. He is described as a “deceiver of nations” in Revelation 20:30 and 7. Daniel chapter 10 identifies a demonic power over the nation of Persia working to prevent Daniel’s prayer. Then he blinds he church.

Satan’s devices are to bring a religious spirit into the American church and put them in bondage. Satan does not want to give up his ground.  He also deceives through false doctrine, minsters, teachers, apostles and religions.

Satan wages warfare against believers who are in, but not of, the world. He plants doubt in the mind of believers by the world.

Satan wars against the mind, the tongue, the spirit, the body, and the spiritual walls of believers. He attacks through family and associates, finances, and circumstances. Satan works through the soul and spirit through the flesh. Satan will even blind the mind and keep you from accepting the truth of the Gospel.

His Disciples: Jesus sent out twelve to preach and to have authority and power to heal the sick and cast out demons.  Preaching, healing and deliverance all goes together.  The truth sets you free.

Mark 3: 14, 15 And He appointed twelve to continue to be with Him, and that He might send them out to preach and to have authority and power to heal the sick and to drive out demons.

Luke 9: 1-2 Then Jesus called together the Twelve and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases, and He sent them out to announce and preach the Kingdom of God and to bring healing.

The Twelve Disciples

The Lord sent out twelve to heal the sick and set the captives free:

Matthew 10:1 “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of diseases.

Do you see when he cast the demonic spirits out then they were healed?  Does this go together?

Matthew 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons.  Freely you have received, freely give.”

Those of you who have been delivered from sickness and diseases or demonic strongholds and torment, have much to give.  You can relate what others have gone through.

Examples in Scripture of Healing and Deliverance through others:

Philip in Samaria in Acts 8:5-25:

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

And there was great joy in that city.

But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

Paul and the Magician Elymas Acts 13:6-12:

And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:

Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.

Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him.

10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

Paul Confronts the Fortuneteller in Philippi in Acts 16:16-24:

16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

19 And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

20 And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

21 And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

Paul At Ephesus and the Sons of Sceva – Acts 19:11-17:

11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

Seventy Others:

Luke 10: 1, 2 Now after this the Lord chose and appointed seventy others and sent them out ahead of Him, two by two, into every town and place where He Himself was about to come visit. And He said to them, The harvest indeed is abundant, but the farmhands are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Jesus sent seventy others to do the same as Him and the disciples.  It is the will of the Lord for us to be an extension to set the captives free from demonic oppression.

The church today should be doing the same but are afraid to cast out demons.  Demons must bow their knee.  Also, we should be laying hands on the sick instead of sending them to doctors and psychiatrist.

We looked at the ministry of Jesus, the disciples, the followers and the church and all its healings, deliverance, miracles, signs and wonders.  So how does a person maintain a lifestyle that leads to health and wholeness?
