Bible Verses on Purity and Holiness
It is important to memorize the Word of God so that it is in your heart to resist temptations.
1 John 3:3 “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
Hebrews 7:26 “For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;”
Col. 3:5 “Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:”
1 Thes. 4:3 “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:”
Job 31:1 “I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?” That means making a covenant by giving your eyes to the Lord in purity.
Matthew 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
Ps. 119:37 “Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.”
Prov. 6:25 “Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.”
Titus 1:15 “Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.”
Romans 8:6-7 “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”
